Ingredients

  • 125g/4oz butter
  • 55g/2oz caster sugar, plus extra to finish
  • 150g/6oz plain flour
  • 15g Mealworm Powder
  • 1 tsp vanilla essence

Method

 1. Heat the oven to 190c/ 170 fan/ Gas 5.
 2. Beat the butter and sugar together until smooth
 3. Sieve the flour into the butter mixture. 
4. Stir in the mealworm flour.
5. Bring together with a wooden spoon or your hands until a crumbly dough is formed.
 4. Turn out onto a work surface and very gently roll out until the dough is approx 1cm thick.
 5. Cut into fingers or any other shape you want and place onto a lined baking tray.
 6. Sprinkle with caster sugar and put in the fridge for 20mins.
 7. Bake in the oven for 15-20 mins until a pale golden brown.
8. Leave to cool on a wire rack, then serve.
